ASSESSMENT​

Meet our experienced physiotherapist for a thorough assessment. This will allow us to connect, and ensure you are supported, heard, and understood. This may be in the clinic, in the comfort of your own home, over telehealth, or via community services such as school.

TREATMENT
PLAN​

Your physiotherapist will develop a personalised treatment plan based on your goals. This will provide both short and long term treatment advice.

WE WORK
TOGETHER​
​
This will include education, lifestyle advice, and symptom management of, for example, pain and/or fatigue. We work collaboratively to support your health journey.

ADDITIONAL INTERVENTIONS​
​
Depending on your needs we may provide manual therapy, specific exercise rehabilitation and education, ergonomic and posture advice, gait re-education, exercise classes, hydrotherapy, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, taping, use of medical technology such as Real Time Ultrasound, and home management plans for ongoing treatment. Where appropriate we connect with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to give you the best possible health outcomes.

CLARE ADAMS
Senior Physiotherapist and Founder of Hypermobility Physio
Clare is passionate about helping patients with hypermobility related conditions and combines the best scientific knowledge with empathetic care.
She has over two decades of professional experience in managing hypermobility related issues in both adults and children as well as her own personal experience of the condition and mother of a child with the condition.
Her tailored approach for each patient integrates manual therapy, education, and exercise therapy. She looks beyond symptoms to take into consideration all aspects of the hyper mobile experience.
Clare brings positivity and encouragement as well as a commitment to keeping up to date with the latest scientific research to support patients on their health journey.
EDUCATION & WORK
Clare completed her Bachelor of Physiotherapy with concurrent research-based honours at the University of East Anglia in the UK in 2002.​
Since then she has worked in major teaching hospitals in the UK and Australia. For the past 20 years she has worked as senior physiotherapist in both adult and paediatric specialist outpatient clinics.
Clare was appointed physiotherapist for the Great Britain Synchronised Swimming Team from 2004-2009 working with hypermobile Olympians, Commonwealth Games athletes and national champions.
She founded Hypermobility Physio in 2023 in response to a need for access to hypermobility services.
In 2022 she presented a lecture for the Australian Physiotherapy Association on Paediatric Hypermobility and co-authored an article in the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s In Motion journal on hypermobility.
Clare also holds a degree in Cell Biology which has enhanced her understanding of the basis of hypermobility.
Clare continues to pursue a range of professional education to develop her clinical skills, along with conference attendances, research and providing mentoring and training to colleagues. She has attended multiple Ehlers-Danlos Society ECHO Projects and co-founded Hypermobility for Australian Allied Health - a hypermobility advocacy group for health professionals in Australia.
